Recently, Beijing TJWY Technology Co., Ltd. proudly announced the successful completion of the first implantation of its self-developed Nuva® Flow Diverter in Colombia, marking the official entry of TJWY's products into the Colombian market.
This milestone procedure was performed by Prof. Nelson Lobelo and his outstanding neurointerventional team from SAN JOSE HEMODYNAMICS HOSPITAL.

Preoperative Evaluation
Preoperative angiography revealed a shared trunk of bilateral anterior cerebral arteries, with a saccular aneurysm (8 mm × 6 mm) on the left anterior cerebral artery, a recurrent aneurysm (9 mm × 5 mm) on the left middle cerebral artery, and a wide-neck aneurysm (8 mm × 8 mm) on the right posterior communicating artery.

Angiography of the right internal carotid artery
Considering the patient’s vascular condition, aneurysm size, location, and morphology, Dr. Lobelo’s team decided to first treat the distal left middle cerebral recurrent aneurysm and the left anterior cerebral saccular aneurysm, followed by treatment of the proximal right posterior communicating wide-neck aneurysm.

Surgical Procedure
After successfully treating the left-sided aneurysms, the team proceeded to use the Nuva® Flow Diverter for the right posterior communicating artery aneurysm. The decision was made based on several advantages of the Nuva® system, including its radiopaque release-recapture segment that provides navigational guidance, full stent visibility for real-time wall apposition assessment, and the super-elastic nitinol braided structure that enhances flexibility and conformability.
According to the lesion measurements, the team selected the Nuva® Flow Diverter TJED-D-5.0-20 (designed for vessels approximately 4.5 mm in diameter and 28 mm in length).

Delivery of the Nuva® Flow Diverter
Using the TJWY Frepass®18Plus microcatheter, the Nuva® was smoothly delivered into the right middle cerebral artery. The microcatheter was then slowly withdrawn until the distal end of the stent opened into a “V”-shaped funnel configuration. At this point, the delivery system was slightly retracted to the intended anchoring position, and the stent was deployed using a controlled push-and-pull technique.

Immediate post-procedure angiography
Post-deployment angiography confirmed clear stent visibility, excellent wall apposition, unobstructed distal vessels and branches, and obvious contrast stagnation within the aneurysm sac—showing a distinct “crescent sign.” The delivery system was then successfully retrieved.

Postoperative Outcome
Multiview angiography after the procedure showed optimal wall adherence of the Nuva® stent, with no signs of intracranial hemorrhage or ischemia. The operation concluded successfully.

Expert Feedback
Following the procedure, Prof. Nelson Lobelo highly commended the Nuva® Flow Diverter, stating:
“The Nuva® Flow Diverter features an innovative design. Compared with other flow diverters on the market, its unique radiopaque retrievable section greatly facilitates intraoperative manipulation. Once released from the microcatheter, the stent expands fully without auxiliary devices and achieves excellent wall apposition. Its superior vessel conformity and 30–35% metal surface coverage provide strong flow diversion effects, contributing to improved patient outcomes.”
This successful case marks an important milestone for TJWY Medical’s global presence, reinforcing the company’s commitment to delivering advanced neurovascular solutions worldwide.
